This is a rare original 1888 color chromolithograph which pictures diverse fashions and styles worn in Germany during the 17th century.

1. Ferdinand Albert, Duke of Brunswick-Bevern, wearing an elaborate fashion from the 1650s - 3,4,5,6,7. Women from Ausbourg with some unusual hairstyles embellished with gigantic hats, most likely dating back to the 15th century - 9,11,12,13,14,17. Fashions from the Rhine basin, which include the pelzkappe, or fur bonnet, and the kittel, a fur lined jacket - 20. Protestant minister - 21. Dame Barbara, in an arresting pelzkappe and a dress with slashed sleeves and a lace collar typical of the 17th century.
