This is a rare original 1888 color chromolithograph which features several portraits of elegant women from different fashion periods in 18th century France.

Top - Woman in a dress à falbalas (with frills and other frou-frou decorations), with sleeves that end in three tiers of lace - Woman in a powdered wig and fourreau-style dress, from after 1750 - Bourgeois lady wearing an interesting necklace of ribbon, which only appeared in France after 1760.

Middle - Portrait by artist Nattier, woman in an open-bodice satin dress with a fine collar - Bourgeois lady with the tricolor ribbon that was often seen during the years surrounding the French Revolution.

Bottom - Young lady wearing a frilled dress typical of mid-18th century Versailles ball gowns.
