This is an original 1870 lithograph that shows some examples of French landscape and animal paintings including: The Merciful Samaritan, Landscape by P. Flandrin; Landscape by P. Marilhat; Forest Landscape by C. Corot; Berner Oberland by A. Calame; Sheep at Early Dawn by C. Troyon; Working Oxen by Rose Bonheur; and Return from the Market by E. Verboeckhoven.

This lithograph is from a collection detailing the history and beauty of architecture from prehistoric times through the 1800s. Due to the heavy stock of the paper, the original plate emboss can still be viewed in the margins of most lithographsÑa rare and highly desirable feature of this art. Our digital capture process enhances the visibility and tone of the foxing; however, in the original pieces the foxing, especially along the edges, is less pronounced. Virtually all foxing is restricted to the outermost margin and would be eliminated when framed.

This 141+ year old Item is rated Fine / Very Good. No creases. No tears. No water damage. There is some light foxing in the margins and some foxing spots in the image--please see image.
