This is an original 1886 black and white in-text wood engraving of bas-relief sculptures of two draped female figures from the frieze of the Parthenon which is located on the Acropolis in the city of Athens, Greece. A frieze is a central section of an entablature above the columns on the outside of an ancient structure. It is usually decorated with bas-relief sculpture.
