This is an original 1919 sepia photogravure of a statue by Alice Cooper of Sacagawa, the Lemhi Shoshone woman, who with her newborn baby accompanied the Lewis and Clark Expedition, as an interpreter and guide. The statue is now located in Washington Park in Portland, Oregon. Please note that there is a brief descriptive text about Sacagewea on the reverse. Please see both images.
