This is an original 1926 halftone print of the Colossi of Memnon in Luxor (ancient Thebes), Egypt. The Colossi of Memnon depict Amenhotep III, and were built in the 14th century BC of quartzite sandstone found at el-Gabal el-Ahmar. The caption writes, "Two of the world's largest and longest sitters, the Colossi of Memnon." Photography by H. Béchard.
