This is an original 1929 black and white halftone print of the monolith statue and monumental sculpture of the Sphinx with the Pyramid of Khafre behind it in Giza, Egypt. Interestingly, most sphinx are depicted as female, but The Great Sphinx of Giza is male, thus it is called an androsphinx.
