This is an original 1945 halftone print of soldiers planning strategic bombing attacks. The caption writes, "The young men, the generals, and wing commanders, along with their still younger experts, fly regularly into Guam from Saipan and Tinian. They come together in the tension of the hot and stuffy 'critique' room to evaluate what the B-29's destroyed. Out of these evaluations came the blows that finally broke Japan." In the beginning of the war, targets were set based on military function, but between 1939 and 1942, the policy was slowly abandoned, and bombs were sent down on civilians and city infrastructure.
