This is an original 1901 halftone print of the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, Greece. This stadium/sports arena was built between the two hills of Agra and Ardettos by Lykourgos in 330-329 BC. The modern version of this stadium was built by G. Averof at the end of the nineteenth century in time for the rebirth of the Olympic Games in 1896.
