"Amazilia Graysoni"

This is an original 1963 color print by Rafael Montes de Oca of a member of the Amazilia Graysoni Hummingbird family, known more simply as a Grayson Hummingbird. A subspecies of Amazilia Rutila, these birds inhabit the islands of Maria Madre and Maria Cleofas. The male coloring is subdued compared to the Amazilia Rutila. The pictured orchid is known as Xylobium elongatum, which flowers later in the year, generally in the autumn.
