This is an original 1883 photolithograph of a painting by William Hogarth (1697-1764) entitled "Paul before Felix (Burlesqued)" that portrayed the apostle Paul appearing before Felix, the Roman Procurator at Caesarea. Hogarth intended this piece to be a satire of English law and courtroom procedures during the Georgian era.
