This is an original 1906 halftone print of a piece by Dutch Golden Age painter Frans Hals (1580-1666), entitled here as "The Painter and his Wife(?)", however it is more commonly known as "Married Couple in a Garden." Known for his portraits, his loose brushwork was a factor in the influence he ultimately had on Dutch portraiture throughout the 1600s.
