This is an original 1918 black and white photograph from Good Furniture Magazine showing a mantel in Greenwich Village, New York City. The photograph shows the characteristic Greenwich fireplace built up from the old floor, with a generous use of asbestos to meet the fire regulations. This top floor now rents for more than did the whole house before the alterations.
