This is an original 1918 black and white photograph from Good Furniture Magazine of the back yard studio in Greenwich Village, New York City. Formerly occupied by Frank Conroy, artist, playwright, actor and manager of the Greenwich Village Theater, now serving in the navy. This photograph shows how the back yard was remodeled, the building was finished in rough stucco and shaded by a venerable old tee, presenting an agreeable aspect of respectable age and culture. This studio had become a center in New York City for ultra-modern artistic life.
