1875 Wood Engraving Ticuna Indian Tiger Attack Lance Canoe Atacoari River XGHC1

This is an original 1875 black and white wood engraving of a pair of Ticuna Indians who were ambushed by a tiger while paddling their canoe along the Atacoari River. The tiger pounced and scalped the native man with its claws before his wife grabbed the lance and impaled the predator through its throat.
