This is an original 1883 photolithograph of "The Marriage Settlement", the first in a series of six paintings by William Hogarth (1697-1764) entitled "Marriage á-la-mode" that portrayed the arranged marriage between the son of Earl Squanderfield and the daughter of a wealthy London merchant.
