This is an original 1941 World War II black and white print ad for the J. Walter Thompson Company. This ad features the Empire Air Training Scheme, also known as the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan, which was responsible for training nearly half of the pilots, air gunners, wireless operators, aviation engineers, navigators and bomb aimers who served with the Royal Canadian Air Force, the Royal New Zealand Air Force, the Royal Australian Air Force and the Royal Air Force. This enormous joint military aviation training program was implemented by the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
