This is an original 1917 halftone print of the training of American troops during World War I; these soldiers are being drilled on how to used automatic machine weaponry, and young aviators learning to plot enemy lines and locations on paper in order to organize an attack they'll have to use when they are dispatched to northern France to fight Germany.
