This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of a wireless station in Bordeaux, France (Republique Française) and a plant in Nauen, Germany (Deutschland). The caption for the French station writes, "It was formally transferred to France as a gift from the American people. A message from Bordeaux can be received in Washington, 3,000 miles distant, in one-fiftieth of a second."
