This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of the Otay Dam near San Diego, California, and the Kerckoff Dam in Fresno, California. The Otay Dam could hold 19 billion gallons of water, and the Kerckoff Dam was designed to generate electricity using the falling water to operate turbines.
