This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of an Italian sentinel on duty during World War I, and a soldier throwing a hand grenade into the enemy's trench. The caption writes, "Soldier preparing to throw a hand grenade into an enemy trench not many yards distant. Grenade throwing was a marked element in the fighting of both sides, and the aggregate damage done was very great."

This 89+ year old Item is rated Very Fine ++. Light aging throughout. No natural defects. Some light surface rub. No tears. No water damage. Please note that there is print on the reverse.
