Solomon Juneau was the MilwaukeeÕs first mayor and one of the founding fathers. In 1818, Juneau came to Milwaukee as VieauÕs clerk and protŽgŽ, and stayed with VieauÕs large family in their cramped log cabin located above the Menomonee Valley in todayÕs Mitchell Park.
In 1847 Lowell Damon completed the home that Oliver Damon, his father, started in 1844. The house is believed to be WauwatosaÕs oldest residence, and is a classic example of a colonial home. In 1941, the former owner, the sons of Alexander Rogers, gave the house to the Milwaukee County Historical Society to be operated as a museum. The Lowell Damon House museum is located at 2107 Wauwatosa Ave. (76th St.) Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.
