This is an original 1849 black and white copper engraving of captive Israelites during the Babylonian exile of 586-538 BCE. Shown is a weeping girl crying on a man's lap, who holds a lyre with a chained hand. We are assuming that the artist of this image was Bendman, and the engraver was T. Kelly.
