This is an original 1875 black and white in-text wood engraving with images of Gilmore's Summer Concert Garden at Madison Avenue and 26th Street in New York City. The arena (which later became Madison Square Garden) was leased to band leader, Patrick Gilmore, who used it to present shows and concerts.

This collection includes not only medical quackery ads, but many images from the 1876 Centennial Exposition. The Exposition was a World's Fair held in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia from May 10 to November 10, 1876, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia.
