Arthur Rackham

Arthur Rackham (1867-1939) was a native of London, England, where he received his art education at the Lambeth School of Art. He was most recognized for his use of watercolors, as well as his whimsical, enchanting and otherworldly artistic style. Rackham created a great number of imaginative artworks for childrenÕs magazines and illustrated books, which were largely based on fairytales, adventures, legends and fantasies. His art had been included in such noteworthy literary works as Alice in Wonderland, Rip van Winkle, A Midsummer NightÕs Dream, Peter Pan in Kensington Garden, GrimmÕs Fairytales and more. Rackham was affiliated with the Societe Nationale des Beaux Arts, the Royal Watercolor Society and the Master of the Art WorkerÕs Guild. His reputation superseding his life, RackhamÕs art remains an international and nostalgic treasure, highly sought after by collectors and fans alike.
