This is an original 1908 halftone print for The Broken Bow. This painting is of Cupid and Venus outdoors. Cupid is crying because his bow is broken. Venus is holding it in her left hand and looking down onto Cupid. Some say that Cupid is being punished, and that is why Venus has taken away his bow and looking down onto him. Others say she is comforting him because he is crying because of his broken bow. The real story is unknown.
