This is an original 1932 color print of "St. Martin and the Beggar." The image depicts St. Martin on horse and a nude man at his side. The caption writes, "Domenico Theotocupuli was a strange painter and a strange man. He was born in Greece, whence the nickname 'El Greco.' And he is known as one of the great painters of Spain." El Greco was born in Crete as Domenico Theotocopuli (1541-1614). He often painted very distinctive facial features that were usually malformed.
