This is an original 1932 color print of the peculiar pumice stone cones of Cappadocia, Turkey. These unique rock formations of unknown depth, formed centuries ago by an ancient (now extinct) volcano eruption, have been carved out by the native troglodytes, who reside here. Photography courtesy of Maynard Owen Williams.
