This is an original 1916 halftone print of the routine tasks of warfare. Pictured are images of men holding observation balloons, making barbed-wire entanglements, and the interior of a trench. The latter image features several dead soldiers being looked over by the Red Cross. The caption reads, "The Last Great Task: Dying for his country is also part of the soldier's job."
