This is an original 1938 black and white photogravure of one of the three battle scenes commissioned by a Florentine family in the mid 15 century and painted by early Italian Renaissance artist Paolo Uccello. It depicts the battle of San Romano, in which the Florentine and Sienese forces clashed in 1432.
