This is an original 1874 black and white in-text wood engraving of an illustration that depicts the Puffing Billy and the Royal George steam locomotives that were designed by English railroad engineer Timothy Hackworth (1786-1850) and operated by the Stockton and Darlington Railway (S&DR) between 1825 and 1863.
