This is an original 1903 halftone print of a bridge on the Trans-Siberian Railroad. The railway is the longest in the world and connects Moscow to the Russian Far East and the Sea of Japan. Construction of the railway began in 1891, and like the First Transcontinental Railroad of the United States, was started on both ends and worked toward the middle.
This item is from a limited edition collection of important historical prints produced in 1903. The edition size produced at that time was out of 1,000 and this collection of prints was numbered 870. The edition and number are not present on the individual item but rather was provided for the collection as a whole.
