This is an original 1873 black and white in-text wood engraving of a pair of illustrations that depict the wooden paddle dispatch vessel HMS Lively, wooden paddle steamer HMS Vivid, Audacious-class ironclad battleships HMS Audacious and the HMS Vanguard, Devastation-class mastless turret ship HMS Devastation, and the wooden paddle dispatch boat HMS Vigilant sailing ships of the British Royal Navy during the Victorian era that were used to escort King Naser al-Din Shah Qajar of Persia during his visit to England in 1873.
