This is an original 1953 monochrome in-text lithograph of The Maid of Athens sailing in the ocean.

This image comes from a collection of prints based on the story of the wreck of The Maid of Athens. It was a British ship that caught fire and shipwrecked in 1870 on the Isla de los Estados (Staten Island) in Argentina. The story is about Emily Wooldridge's experience as a woman on a ship who was married to the Captain. She wrote that the crew blamed her for the wreckage because of the legend that is bad luck to have a woman on board. She goes on to write about being stranded in a foreign part of the world and trying to make it back home.
