Henry Reuterdahl

(1871-1925) Henry Reuterdahl was best known for his paintings of ships and the sea. He is also known for his recruiting posters for WWI when he was artistic advisor to the U.S. Navy Recruiting Bureau. He accompanied the American Fleet on several voyages including one through the Straits of Magellan in 1907. ReuterdahlÕs work can be found in the collections of the National Museum in Washington, The Naval Academy in Annapolis, and the Naval War College in Newport.
