This is an original 1908 halftone print of Le Champ De Tulipes A Sassenheim Pres Haarlem by Claude Monet. The title is translated as The Tulip Field Near Sassenheim Haarlem. Monet was a founder of French impressionist painting, which can be seen in all of his paintings, including this one. The brushstrokes are very thick and active, and can be seen as almost raised from the paper.

Claude Monet

Claude Monet (1840-1926) was a world famous Parisian impressionist artist and painter. He received his formal art education at La Havre Secondary School of the Arts, as well as at the Academie Suisse. He also studied under Jacques-Francois Ochard, Charles Gleyre and Eugene Boudin. Monet was perhaps most recognized for his charcoal caricatures, studies of light, landscapes, figures, historic landmarks and seascapes. His art has been exhibited at the Galerie Durand-Ruel, the Musee Marmottan Monet, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, the Pushkin Museum of Moskow and more.
