Period Paper is pleased to offer an exceptional collection of historic halftone and color prints from 1913. These images of famous places, architecture and cityscapes, monuments, and people provide a fascinating picture of pre-World War I Germany. Many of the images (including munition factories and military maneuvers) also document the rise of German nationalism and the growing militarization of the German Empire in the years preceding the first global conflict. Sadly, many of these beautiful buildings and cities that survived the First World War were subsequently either damaged or destroyed during the Second World War.
