This image captures the now closed (1981) Windsor Hotel in Montreal, Quebec, Canada at the turn of the twentieth century. Billing itself as the best hotel "in all the Dominion," the Hotel opened in 1878. Operated by the Windsor Hotel Company, the Hotel was intended to symbolize the city's increasing wealth and prominence as Canada's largest city at the time.
