The Angelus was completed in 1901. Standing at 8 stories high, the hotel was to be the tallest hotel in the city. It was estimated that the cost to construct the hotel was around $800,000 with a quarter of the funds spent on furnishings and other decor. The hotel was demolished in 1956.
