This is an original 1906 halftone print of a piece by Dutch artist Frans Hals (1580-1666), entitled here as "Group of Arquebusiers"; however it is more commonly known as the "Meeting of the Officers of the Kloveniersschutterij in Haarlem." Known for his portraits, Hals' loose brushwork was a factor in the influence he ultimately had on Dutch portraiture throughout the 1600s, as well as on the more difficult and demanding skill of group portraiture.
