This collection was issued in 1897 and was declared to be the official guide to the Centennial.

The Tennessee Centennial and International Exposition was a World's Fair which ran from May 1 to October 31 of 1897 in Nashville. It was designed to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Tennessee's entry into the union in 1796, although it was a year delayed. Located to the west of the city in what is known today as Centennial Park, the Fair boasted many buildings and exhibitsÐÐthe most notable of which was The Parthenon, built by the city of Nashville, and the Pyramid representing the city of Memphis.
