This is an original 1871 black and white woodcut of the House of Cornelius Rufus located at Pompeii, Italy. The house was first excavated in 1855 and is typical of an atrium-garden layout. The House has since lost much of its characteristic frescos and decoration, including its pair of marble
herma seen in the center of the image.
