This is an original 1873 black and white wood engraving of the Private marks of the builders of the Great Subterranean Quarry. These marks were found on stones in the foundation walls of the temple area, the Samaria, Hebron, and the Great Subterranean Quarry. This image was taken from a book of travels from M. Wolcott Redding.
