This is an original 1881 black and white steel engraving by John Chester Buttre (1821-1893) that portrays First Lady Letitia Christian Tyler (1790-1842), the wife of John Tyler (1790-1862), the tenth President of the United States of America. Letitia was also the first President's wife to die in the White House.
