This is an original 1881 black and white steel engraving that portrays Martha Washington "Patsy" Jefferson Randolph (1772-1836). She was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States. She later married Thomas Mann Randolph, Jr. (1768-1828), and served as the First Lady of Virginia after her husband Thomas was elected governor in 1819.
