This is an original 1882 monochrome relief line-block map of the city of Manchester located in Greater Manchester, England. During the Middle Ages, Manchester was but a small manorial township, but the city population began expanding rapidly as a result textile manufacturing in the Industrial Revolution. The city is also home to two Premier League soccer teams: Manchester City and Manchester United.
