This is an original 1886 black and white in-text wood engraving of Publius Ovidius Naso (43 BC - 18 AD) was a Roman poet and is also known as Ovid. He is most famous for three collections of erotic poetry:
Heroides, Amores, and Ars Amatoria and for the mythological poem
Metamorphoses.
