This is an original 1901 two-color cover for the Harvard Lampoon. It features the Lampy the Jester sitting on a winged horse, holding up a shield inscribed with the motto Vanitas (Latin, meaning "empty"), a parody of Harvard's motto, Veritas, or "Truth". The cartoon is of two silhouetted men, one of which is an actor and the second which delights in antagonizing the first. The student artist, Little, included his year of expected graduation (1904) with his signature.CONDITION
