This is an original 1904 black and white photogravure of the Château de Maintenon located in the Eure-et-Loir region of France and so named for being the residence of King Louis XIV's mistress, Madame de Maintenon. Begun in the 12th century, and completed around the 18th century, it is considered a French national monument.
