This is an original 1906 halftone print featuring an image of the Fort McPherson, most northerly post of the Hudson's Bay Company, near the mouth of the Mackenzie River. This point is located near the extreme northwestern corner of the District of Mackenzie.
The Hudson's Bay Company is the oldest commercial corporation in the world.
The Mackenzie River originates in Great Slave Lake and flows north into the Arctic Ocean; and is the longest river in Canada.
